Trademark Assignments of Rights
Entity in charge: Directorate General of the Registry of the Industrial Property of the Ministry of Commerce and Industries.
Time frame: between three months to a year.
Requirements:
- Power of Attorney granted to the lawyer in Panamá by the new proprietor (Assignee) attested by a Notary Public.
- If it is a Panamanian legal entity, certification of the Public Registry of Panama.
- Copy of the identification card of the company's legal representative.
- If it is a foreign legal entity, Certification of Legal Existence of the Company.
- Copy of the identification card of the company's legal representative.
- If the owner is a person, a copy of the personal identity card.
- In the case of a foreign natural person, a photocopy of the passport.
- Document of assignment duly executed by the proper officer of both companies before a Public Notary. If the document was issued abroad, if must be apostilled.
Additional Information:
- Documents that are not in Spanish must be translated by a Certified Public Translator in Panamá.
- Documents issued abroad must be apostilled or attested by a Notary Public and legalized by a Consul of Panama.
